The Fourth International Workshop on Parameterized and Exact Computation (IWPEC 2009) covers research in all aspects of parameterized and exact algorithms and complexity. In particular, study on parameterized and exact computations for real-world applications and algorithmic engineering is especially encouraged. Papers presenting original research in the area are sought, including but not limited to: new techniques for the design and analysis of parameterized and exact algorithms, parameterized complexity theory, relationship between parameterized complexity and traditional complexity classifications, applications of parameterized and exact computation, implementation issues of parameterized and exact algorithms, high-performance computing and fixed parameter tractability. The goal is to present recent research results, including significant work in-progress, and to identify and explore directions for future research.

IWPEC 2009 will be part of ALGO 2009, which also hosts ESA, ATMOS, and WAOA. ALGO 2009 will take place September 7-11, 2009 in IT University of Copenhagen, Denmark.

Submission

Authors are invited to submit an extended abstract in English no longer than 12 pages using at least 11-point font, preferably in LNCS-style, describing original unpublished research. Simultaneous submission to other conferences with published proceedings is not permitted. Additional details as necessary may be included in a clearly marked appendix that will be read at the discretion of the program committee.

Authors must submit their papers electronically. A detailed description of the electronic submission process is available at the workshop website. Authors unable to submit electronically should contact a co-chair of the program committee. Accepted papers will be published in the workshop proceedings in the Springer series Lecture Notes in Computer Science.

Authors of accepted papers are expected to present their work at the workshop, and to incorporate the comments from the program committee and from the workshop discussions in the final version of their submissions. Accepted papers in final form will be due approximately two months after the workshop.
