We used the protocol described in Section 4 to implement a connection admission control (CAC) protocol for Myrinet. MyRTP (Myrinet Real Time Protocol ) is a real-time connection management protocol based on the proposed distributed connection management scheme. It consists of the HECs and SECs implemented as daemon processes running on the hosts and switches, respectively. These daemon processes exchange a set of appropriate control messages which help implement the protocol. This section describes the architecture of the MyRT protocol along with the internal structure of the daemon processes and the control messages.
