- Independent of workloads
Performance Consideration
- Interactive system: If many shutdowns issued in short time, will increase response time => degrade “perceived interactivity”
- User might react to obtain response and hence steep increase in system load.
- Restrict two consecutive shutdowns within “time to wake up” (say)
